Summer Host at Luleå Cathedral

Are you an outgoing and service-oriented person who enjoys meeting people in a church environment? Then the position of summer host at Luleå Cathedral might be for you!

The most important thing for us is that you are responsible, social, and have a genuine interest in creating a positive experience for our visitors.

During the summer, Luleå Cathedral welcomes people from both Sweden and other parts of the world. Some come to pray, others to experience the beautiful church, and many seek conversation and support from a deacon or priest. As a summer host, you will be a key person in providing a safe and inviting atmosphere for everyone visiting the church.

Your Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist visitors in the church.
• Provide information about the church's history and activities (basic guide training included).
• Help visitors get in touch with a deacon or priest if needed.
• Be responsible for opening and closing the church.
• Prepare and serve simple snacks.
• Perform light cleaning and caretaker duties.
• Collaborate with another summer host to create a pleasant and inviting environment.

Luleå Cathedral is open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Please note that the church is closed on Midsummer's Eve, June 21.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone between 18 and 20 years old who wants a summer job. We also welcome older individuals interested in a meaningful and educational summer job. The most important thing is that you are responsible, outgoing, and want to create a positive experience for visitors at Luleå Cathedral.

We are looking for four summer hosts for the following periods in 2026:

• Period 1: June 15 – July 14
• Period 2: July 15 – August 14

The working hours are 40 hours per week according to a schedule. Salary according to collective agreement.

Introduction and training: Those hired as summer hosts will receive an introductory evening with three hours of guide training at the beginning of June.
